Croatian Parliament adopted the Law on the Croatian Qualifications Framework (CROQF), which regulates qualifications system in the Republic of Croatia. Overall objective of the CROQF is accession of transparency and quality of entire educational system, integrating education to labor market needs, establishment of a formal system for the recognition of non-formal and informal learning. Faculty of Forestry, Wood Technology Section is the main beneficiary of the project „Development of higher education qualifications standards and study programmes on the basis of CROQF for wood industry sector, which is cofinanced by European Union from European Social Fund.
The main objective of the project is to improve higher education for better qualifications and employability in the wood industry sector and to support the development and implementation of the Croatian Qualifications Framework (CROQF). Project framework includes draft development of Qualification standards for study programs of bachelor, master and PhD in the wood processing industry sector.
Specific objectives of the Action will include education of academic staff about new methods in teaching process (active learning and e-learning), entrepreneurship as well as equipment of practical 5- axis CNC machine, modernize new computer classroom with new CAD computers and purchase of a new rotational viscometer.
The selected equipment will allow additional new competencies of graduates with the aim of increasing their employability and self-employment even after project completion. The target groups of the project or the final beneficiaries are the teachers and students in wood technology, employers in the wood industry sector, project stakeholders and society in general.
